Cream are homogenous , semisold or viscus preparations , intended for external application to the skin

there are two main types of creams which are:


1- aqueous creams or oil in water emulsion type

and 2- oily creams or water in oil emulsion type cream



they are generally used as EMOLLIENTS

here are some cream preparations which may help you to formulate further more creams

COLD CREAM

Ingredients :


white bee's wax ------->20 mg
liquid paraffin ------------>50 ml
borax --------------------> 1,7 gm
water -------------> Q s to make
perfume may also be added up to 5ml

=>cold cream is used as EMOLLIENT

HAIR CREAM

Ingredients :

mineral oil ----------->50mg
stearic acid ----------> 2 mg
white bee's wax -----10 mg
lime water -------------38 ml
perfume ------------->Qs to make 100mg

preparation :
=>melt the stearic acid & bee' wax at 70 c& add mineral oil to maintain the temperature at 70 c

=>disslove the lime water & heat ut at 70 c


slowly add the oily phase to the aqu phase with continous stirring

=>add perfume & mix well


DIRECTIONS : small amount to be applied on washed , dry hair
